S&B was awarded a subcontract to prepare a design package that included the construction of 46 buildings, roadway, parking lots, sidewalk, grading and utilities. The facility's purpose is to train cadets to become professional officers.
We submitted design analysis, plans and technical specifications in compliance with technical criteria. Our biggest responsibilities were to design the grading plan not to impact existing underground utilities, to maintain the existing finish floor elevation for all existing buildings, and minimize the earthwork cost.
S&B worked closely with the construction contractor, surveyor and USACE to achieve the most cost-effective solution while meeting timeline goals. Detailed site grading, drainage and roadway plans were all completed and approved in less than 6 weeks, one month ahead of schedule.
