S&B performed FEL-2, FEL-3, detailed design and Owner's Engineer services to help develop innovative carbon capture, use and storage (CCUS) technologies.
We assisted in the installation and first commercial-scale implementation of SkyMine technology, which converts post-combustion CO2 into marketable products such as sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), chlorine and hydrogen using a modified chlor-alkali electrolysis process.
We then assisted in the installation of a demonstration plant for the client's more advanced SkyCycle technology, which converts post-combustion CO2 into precipitated calcium carbonate (synthetic limestone) and hydrochloric acid.
