Project Details
S&B prepared a preliminary engineering report with cost estimates, as well as schedules and a 50% design layout for improvements to channels, culverts and stormwater detention along a Houston bayou.
We prepared detailed hydrologic (HEC-HMS) and hydraulic (HEC-RAS) models to determine peak flows and water surface elevations for storm events at 10, 25, 50, 100 and 500 years, and we utilized on-the-ground surveys to update existing hydraulic models. This project began with a feasibility study to ensure the conceptual plan and subsequent improvements would achieve the set goals for reducing potential flooding.
