HOUSTON—July 28, 2026— S&B hosted its annual Bring Your Kid to Work Day across its Memorial and Park Place offices in Houston and, for the first time, its Baton Rouge, Louisiana office, welcoming employees' children for a day of hands-on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) activities and an introduction to the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) industry.
Children entering grades three through 12 participated in engineering and safety challenges, toured the business through interactive activities and learned how S&B designs, procures and builds complex projects. Throughout the day, students gained hands-on experience exploring the many career paths that supported the design, procurement and construction of critical infrastructure.
"Bring Your Kid to Work Day is an opportunity to share what makes S&B special while inspiring the next generation of problem solvers," said Wendy Coker, Senior Vice President of People and Talent at S&B. “We want young people to see the possibilities available through STEM education and understand the impact that engineers, builders, and other professionals have on the world around them.”
Now in its second year in Houston and first year in Baton Rouge, the event reflects S&B's commitment to supporting families and encouraging interest in STEM careers. By providing experience and exposure to real-world projects, S&B aims to help students better understand the skills, teamwork and innovation required to deliver complex, critical infrastructure projects.
