This project involved conversion of a 230 megawatt Siemens Westinghouse 501G combustion turbine to a nominal 350 megawatt combined cycle facility.
The thermal island equipment provided by Siemens-Westinghouse and installed by S & B included a 120 megawatt axial flow steam turbine generator and a triple pressure 1,800 PSIG/1,050 degree F Nooter/Eriksen heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) with selective catalytic reduction system.
S & B also performed the engineering, procurement, and construction of the balance of plant including:
- An 8-cell cooling tower
- Circulating water pumps and piping to condenser
- Closed condensate cooling water system with titanium heat exchanger
- Multi-story control room/shop/warehouse building
- Managed subcontract for 300 foot concrete stack
