Progress Energy - Hines Energy Complex - Power Block 3
The team of S & B and Kiewit Power Engineers (KPE) provided engineering, procurement, and construction for the 580 megawatt Power Block 3 (PB3) project. S & B and KPE executed this EPC combined cycle project located near Bartow, Florida as a joint venture entity.The project comprised installation of two Siemens Westinghouse 501FD dual fuel combustion turbines, two Nooter/Eriksen triple pressure heat recovery steam generators with SCR, and a Siemens Westinghouse HE steam turbine.
Power Block 3 was integrated into existing Power Blocks 1 and 2 with consideration for additional future power blocks. S & B provided overall project management and purchasing and had construction responsibility.
