S & B History

S & B Engineers and Constructors, Ltd. (S & B) was founded in 1967 by Dr. W. A. Brookshire (current chairman) and J. G. Slaughter Sr. to provide a complete range of project services for the petrochemical, refining, chemical, midstream and power generation industries for clients throughout the globe. In 1969, S & B began providing skilled craft personnel to the industry for construction. Since this time S & B has created or acquired a number of companies. These current companies are:

• Ford, Bacon and Davis, LLC (FB&D), founded in 1894, became part of the S & B family in 1996. FB&D is focused on providing engineering and construction services across markets and predominately provides services in Louisiana and other lining states. FB&D is most noted for its Sulfur Technology. 
  
• S & B Infrastructure was founded in 1990, and provides full-range engineering services to the public sector in the areas of water, wastewater, transportation, emerging technologies, and fuels infrastructure.
  
• S & B Plant Services, Ltd. was founded in 1998 to provide maintenance and small capital construction services.
  
• S & B India was founded in 2000, and has locations in Bangalore and New Delhi, India. S & B India delivers full service engineering and design capabilities.
  

In 1992, S & B became a Limited Partnership Company in the state of Texas, followed by the beginnings of both Pulp and Paper Construction and a Power group in the late ‘90’s.
